PP Vilas Kale's Message
started VED in 1994. From then on my life has been enriched in many ways, as I gained deeper understanding of Vidarbha’s Economy, its Potential and the reasons why there is so much of backlog. After serving as Secretary General for first 4 years, I became President in 1999, and for 12 years enjoyed leading the Organization.
We pursued our initial Thrust areas and added many more areas , as we discovered them to be promising for our region’s rapid economic growth.
We also realised that because VED is A-Political and does not work for any member’s personal issues. we earned respect from all our Political leaders as well as the Bureaucracy .They readily accepted our suggestions of policy changes, support for Events, new Projects etc. However it takes a lot of energy to pursue them, and actually achieve something Tangible. VED has shown tenacity is doing this in a few cases.
A lot still needs to be done.
I am happy that our journey continues with fresh vigour brought in by President Rina, and a whole young team.
My best wishes to you all. Jai Vidarbha –Jai VED !!!
Govind Daga Founder President Ved
As VED completes 30 years, I reflect on its journey from inception to becoming Vidarbha’s foremost economic think tank. When we started in 1994, nearly 75% of the economy lacked the attention it deserved. Our focus on tourism, mining, logistics, agriculture, and power generation has helped shape Vidarbha’s economic landscape. MIHAN, logistics parks, and large-scale power and mining projects are now realities. VED has always believed in self-reliance, working with policymakers to drive change. As we move forward, I encourage efforts to strengthen our resources and continue providing visionary ideas for the region’s sustainable development.
PP Devendra Parekh’s Message
VED is dedicated to the economic development and self-reliance of Vidarbha, striving to unlock its vast potential and eradicate poverty. With a population of 20 million, our mission is to empower people and drive sustainable growth. Vidarbha holds an investment potential of Rs 100,000 Crores, with MIHAN and Nagpur’s logistics hub paving the way for progress. Key sectors like IT, manufacturing, education, healthcare, and tourism offer immense opportunities. With determination and collaboration, we can transform Vidarbha into a thriving region. Together, let’s build a ‘Shining Vidarbha!’
PP SHIVKUMAR RAO’S MESSAGE
Dear Members and Friends,
As we unite under the banner of VED, I am inspired by a shared vision for the future of Vidarbha. Guided by our principle, “Swayameva mrigendrata,” we are committed to selflessness and collaboration, recognizing that it is time for us, the inhabitants of Vidarbha, to contribute to the region that has given us so much. While our rich agricultural heritage is a point of pride, we must also embrace the vast potential of tourism, mineral resources, and our strategic advantages. By leveraging these strengths, we can transform Vidarbha into a thriving hub of prosperity that benefits all.
At VED, we act as a crucial bridge between entrepreneurs, investors, and government bodies to unlock the immense opportunities available. Significant projects like MIHAN—the Multi Modal International Hub Airport in Nagpur—illustrate our commitment to fostering growth across various sectors. Our focus on developing local industries, advocating for educational initiatives, and promoting tourism is set to create jobs and stimulate the economy. As we move forward together, I am confident that our collective efforts will pave the way for a brighter future. Let us seize this moment and work hand in hand to realize the great potential that Vidarbha offers.
Warm regards,
